Woman Abuse Awareness Month: Wrapped in Courage Campaign
It’s every woman’s right to live in a safe and secure environment that is free from violence, whether it be her home, her community, her workplace, or wherever she may go. This November we are reminded to take action on Gender Inequality in Ontario.
November is Woman Abuse Awareness Month. Interim Place in partnership with the Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH) is working hard to ensure Ontarians are educated, aware, and willing to help put an end to men’s violence against women.
Now in its 6th year, OAITH’s Wrapped in Courage Campaign invites all Ontarians to show their support by wearing a purple scarf to let women and their children know they are not standing alone. The courage of a woman alone is not enough. Women need the support and commitment of their community behind them in order to end violence against all women and children. No one should ever have to live in fear.
You can show your support of the Wrapped in Courage initiative by speaking out about men’s violence against women in your home, community, and workplace. Purchase a purple scarf or tie from Interim Place and wear it this winter. Every scarf and effort counts when it comes to the safety and well-being of Ontario’s women and children.
Support the Wrapped in Courage Campaign
Interim Place will be selling purple scarves and ties throughout the month of November, Woman Abuse Awareness Month. Support the Wrapped in Courage Campaign and Interim Place by purchasing and wearing a purple scarf or tie! Scarves and ties are $20 each, or $35 for two.

Her Life Her Canvas- Expressive Art Healing Program
Thank you to all of the Peer Facilitators and Participants who took part in this 3 year program!
“Her Life, Her Canvas: Survivors supporting Survivors” was an art-based peer to peer support group for women and youth survivors of violence coordinated and delivered by Interim Place. The group provided women and youth with a safe space where they could meet and provide mutual support to one another in a place which promotes respect, trust and warmth and empowers these individuals to make changes and decisions to enhance their lives through the use of arts-based therapy methods i.e. poetry, crafting, painting, photography and drumming.
