Advocacy - Taking Action

We can all make a difference & here are some of the many ways:
  • Donate your money or time to a local women’s anti-violence service or to a social justice and advocacy organization Call or write the Premier of Ontario and let him know you support.
  • Support the struggle for justice for Aboriginal Women in Canada and the campaign for the over 500 missing and murdered Aboriginal Women.
  • Support and endorse one of Amnesty International’s global women’s human rights campaigns including action to end the murders of women in Juarez Mexico.
  • Email, call or write Prime Minister and ask him restore funding to national women’s advocacy groups and fund a national childcare program.
  • Call or write the Premier of Ontario and let him know you support and want the Province to go further to reduce poverty, end violence against women, stop discrimination for persons with disabilities.
  • Email your local MP and let her/him know that women who experience violence require protection. Click here to download letter
  • Write a letter to the editor of a local newspaper or a community newsletter or school newsletter and raise these issues.
  • Talk to your family or friends about the issues.
  • Men can also join the White Ribbon campaign and become involved in education and taking action to end male violence. For more information visit: www.whiteribbon.ca
