Interim Place provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention and support services such as housing and legal advocacy to women and their children at two locations in Peel. In 2003 we provided shelter to more than 750 women and children and responded to more than 5,000 telephone crisis calls. There is no fee for service.

Women and their children can stay for a maximum of six weeks at our emergency shelters. During this time we provide as many resources as possible, such as Women's Counselling , Child , Youth Services/Counselling, Housing and Legal Advocacy in addition to community resources and networks that will assist when women leave the shelter. Again, there is no fee for service. Catherine Fox, Executive Director states 'It is very difficult for staff when they need to tell a woman there is no space. In Ontario, approximately 40 women per year are killed by their abusive partners. The support you give, may help save a life.'

Interim Place is fortunate to provide these essential services in a community that cares about each and every one its citizens.
